Using this Renedra sprue of 25mm bases, I decided to construct something for Gaslands. After a while of playing around with the pieces, I settled on making a crash barrier.

I started by gluing each base onto a length of sprue. This formed a triangular shape, perfect for a good-looking obstacle!

Next, I cut a number of pieces of sprue and stuck them to both sides of the structure, hiding the gaps.

With all the frame used up, I then attacked it with a knife to give the panels a distressed and damaged look.
Paint
I was undecided whether I should go for a metal or concrete motif for the barrier. So, after much deliberation, I primed it black and settled on a concrete look. A quick dry brush in grey and a few highlights, and the basic look was done. But now for the fun part: graffiti!

What I really liked was that when I made a mistake, I just ran with it. (It was supposed to say “The Mighty,” but I started to spell it wrong!)
I don’t think my artwork is any good by any means, but this was the most fun I’ve had painting in years!
