I had this 25mm base sprue hanging around, and I thought I’d make something cool out of it. So I set about making some Sprue Dudes! First off, I chopped up a number of small lengths of plastic and glued them together to form a rough cube shape. Next, I glued two further pieces back to back to make the torso of the mini. I also added some of the round bits from the sprue to make arm and leg joints.
I then quickly made all the limbs and carved a fearsome looking sword. And to finish off the dude, I drilled a couple of eye holes and whittled a grumpy looking mouth.
I followed up by making another two further minis, one with a spear and the other wielding a hammer and shield.
Painting
I went for a kind of cardboard box look for these little fellows by painting them mostly brown. But don’t be fooled; these fellows are strong and are out for blood! Although I will say that they’ll be useless in the rain!
With this project done, I’m off to make a champion to lead this awesome little warband!
