SPRUE TERRAIN Part 1: Pipeline
SPRUE TERRAIN Part 1: Pipeline

We all know that vitamins are good for your health, but who knew they would be good for your wargaming hobby as well! I grabbed a few empty tubes (which I’ve been saving for quite some time) and a single sprue and went to it.

First off, I roughed up the plastic with sandpaper and chopped off the slight lip that was on the opening of the tubes. Next, I took some straight pieces of sprue and made some simple frames. After adding a couple of support bars to each one, I glued them to the tubes. I quickly finished them off by fixing some small circular bits, carved out to look like large screws.

To paint it, I primed it in black and gave it a heavy dry brush of silver. Then, when it was fully dry, I dabbed random areas in a dirty brown colour. I finished off by adding dabs of orange here and there to help bring out rustiness.

This is part one of a hopefully long-running series where I attempt to make lots of cool terrain for the Sprue Dudes to hang out and fight in!

I featured some Box Head Dudes in this blog. If you want to see how I made them, click on the image below:
