This time I’m looking at Issue 6 of the Warhammer Stormbringer magazine, which came with a sprue full of 10 Hobgrot Slittaz. These cool little fellows took no time to put together and once assembled they left me with some quite nice unused bits and sizeable pieces of sprue.

So looking at the leftovers I managed to slice and dice a further three minis out of them. I did however run out of suitable legs, so I fashioned a wooden one which I think looks quite good!

Terrain
Now what to do with the sprue itself? More terrain I think, but this time it holds a bit of a twist!

With a little help of broken up lolly sticks I created a series of raised walkways. These are modular in nature so can be be arranged in lots of different ways to suit the game you’re playing.

Also they can be tipped onto their sides to become barricade or wall like structures.
The Royal Game of Ur
But here’s the best bit. With a quick transformation they can be arranged into one of the oldest known board games “The Royal Game of Ur!” It’s still a fun diversion even after 4500 years! Plus you can battle it using your favourite factions. I like to pit current Space Marines against the far superior 1980’s versions!

More Sprue Dudes

I also had a pile of leftover bits perfect for making additional “Sprue Dudes”. These will be used for an upcoming project.

The Whole Sprue
This is the stuff I made from the entire sprue!
