
I’ve have a good number of these sprues hanging about. They’re from Warlord Games’ Vikings Hirdmen and Saxon Thegns sets. Being very different from the sprues I’d normally use, I put them aside for the longest time. Well finally, I got the urge to make something out of one.



I thought the most obvious place to start was the round sections of the frame. After freeing two of them, I sliced the cylinder parts diagonally, then glued them back together at an angle to create some legs.
The next stage was to make the body. I freed another round bit and with a bit of trimming I glued the legs on and attached the whole thing to the base.


With the last two semi-circular pieces, I made some arms. I couldn’t decide what to do about his head, so in the end I just stuck on two tiny eyes and a mouth. And after adding a hat and a large banner, I called this fellow complete.



All robots are rusty, aren’t they? Well, this one turned out that way when I finished painting it!

I think this dude is pretty cool, and I still have plenty of sprue leftover to make even more cool minis. Until then, have a look at these other cool dudes:
