Initially, I only set out to make a single mini, but once he was done, I jumped straight back in to make him a companion! But first, this is how I made the “Iron Jaw Dude.”

I felt I needed to build a mini that was small in stature but big in head. So after sculpting a head from many pieces of sprue, I carved a pair of dangerous-looking teeth for it. To give the mini a bit of a punk look, I gave it a lovely mohawk as well!

Keeping to the brief, I made a tiny body and attached the head. Even with its small dimensions, it still measures 28mm in height!

Painting it was an easy thing to do. After priming it in black, I added some red bits to the hands and hair and then gave it a light dry brush in white. I then painted the bits that I wanted to be metal, and as a finishing touch, I filled the eye sockets with clear resin to give them a little more shine!

Moving on to his best friend, I took inspiration from a Squig. I know it’s hard to believe, but it was!

To make its body, I made sure that there was plenty of room for those gnashing teeth. So after gluing a large number of bits of sprue together, I gently carved the shape I wanted. Then I cut out the teeth and attached them to the front of the creature.

I added a few embellishments, including spikes and eyes, to each side of the head. But something didn’t look right, so I changed the eyes to ears and drilled two new tiny eyes into the front of the head! After adding a pair of legs and a few more embellishments, I called it done.

I kept the overall colour scheme in keeping with its master, and then this little project was finished! This is definitely not going to be the end of this “Iron Jaw” faction; I’m getting the itch to make a giant to join its ranks! But that’s for another day!
