Frostgrave Demon Wall - Use the Sprue
Frostgrave Demons by Northstar

This time I’m assembling five Frostgrave Demons from Northstar / Osprey games. These evil little fellows were nice and easy to construct, and they look pretty cool when done!

To make their new bases a bit more interesting, I freed them from their old ones and carved the pieces to mimic small slabs of stone. I then stuck them to the base and positioned the mini on top. A bit of sand, and they’re ready to paint.

The Sprue

With the sprue itself, I wanted to use as much of it as possible and utilise the remaining heads, arms, weapons etc. Firstly, I chopped up bits of the sprue into lengths and cemented them together. Next, I carved into them to remove the nobbles, to form stone-like pillars.

I got so involved doing this, I forgot to take that many pictures. So what I did was glue them together to make a kind of cliff face (you can just see the beginnings of it on the extreme right of the picture). I repeated this many times, making them into slightly different heights and only stopped when I ran out of suitable sprue!

With all the remaining offcuts, I glued them around the base of the whole structure. This made it not only look a lot better but also less likely to fall over.

Then I got to the fun part and started to attach the demons. As there were only heads and arms leftover, that’s what I used. I tried to make them as believable as possible by showing that they were leaping out (well, casually leaning out!) of the cliff face.

A quick lick of paint, and the “Demon Wall” was finished. This was a lot of fun to do and adds another little chunky piece of scenery to the collection!
